Pinterest Challenge

Instead of just pinning forever, I've decided to make a point of doing some of these things. So, I have a new Pinterest Board: Things I'm Going to Do (Reviews to Follow) - I know, the title could use some work.

So, this board has just one rule - I can only have five things on there at a time that I haven't tried yet.

Right now I just have four "To Dos"
Pacifier Clips (these would be great baby gifts)
That quote about dreaming, I'm going to use it in one of these projects
(which was also a Pinterest Project)
Some Etsy Tips to review and use
Homemade Washing Detergent

Two other items on there I have tired and are excellent, you should check them out
Homemade Carmel Corn
Brownie Batter Dip

Shopping Day ... or Why I Love Target

Run to your local Target store and check out the Christmas Clearance which is now a grand 90% off!!!!

So, I wasn't going to buy any more Christmas decorations. Then I had to run into Target. Sigh.

However, at those discounted prices, it wasn't really like spending money (lol, see how I justify these things for myself).

A breakdown, according to the receipt::
Penguin Pillow $1.49
Little Animals $0.49 each
Knit Christmas Trees $0.80 each
Christmas Cards $0.70 each
(I already bought a box of these at 50% off, so I'm set for next year)

Then two items from the decor section of Target that were only 70% off (only, lol)

Shiny Gold Bread Basket $5.98
Hurricane $8.98

I think both of these items I can use year around (or, at least, I plan to)

Grand Shopping Total $22.63 (with tax)
Grand Savings Total $62.00!!

Happy New Year

Wow, we haven't talked since last year! Since that was just a month ago, I don't feel too badly. Since chatting last I had a lovely holiday with my family. The only thing I was missing was a group of carolers at my door :( Alas, otherwise the Christmas season was utterly delightful, full of presents, decorations, crafts, and friends & family.

Pictures? Well, pictures stress me out. That might sound funny, but I become so consumed with capturing every moment that I miss them (not getting them on film, but being a part of them).

I hosted Christmas for the first time ever - it actually went pretty smoothly. Then I threw a New Year's Day Open House to show off my new digs and see all of my friends. It was a great time! (My BFF's son, who is three, told us it was a GREAT party - so it must have been!)

My biggest news over the holiday season? My Etsy story exploded! Well, not quite, it was a great way to start off a new adventure.

What is this for you? Well, lots more about Etsy and store building. Additionally, I will still be posting about crafts, decorating, shopping, and recipes. Lots of fun things to try (and pin - mostly I pin things, but I do make things occasionally).

Oh, plus a lovely new (more simplistic) blog design!!

It's A Giveaway!

In honor of the Grand Opening of my shop, Curious Fabulizations, my blog will be hosting my first ever give away!

Who: You, silly, who else would be winning?

This bunch of Long Stemmed Paper Lotus Flowers are made with forty folds which are lovingly done by my own fingers in my art room. Each petal is a page from a vintage Reader's Digest that was saved from the trash pile! They are made and then attached to form a flower, which is secured to a stem. These are approximately four inches across and between fifteen and twenty inches tall. These are made in small batches, two or three at a time, to ensure each is just as lovely as the last. Since these are entirely handcrafted, small differences should be expected. My goal is not for you to just be happy with your purchase, but to be excited and thrilled!

(shipping is included)

These would be great in your house (obviously, hehehe), but also great for a Christmas gift.

When: All entries must be received by December 15th at Midnight. I'll pack them up on Sunday the 16th and mail them to you the 17th (they'll arrive in time for your Christmas table)

Why: Why give something away? Maybe it the Christmas Spirit, maybe it is because I LOVE winning things, maybe it is the free publicity (well, minus the price of the product, of course) ... does it really matter?

How: The important part - to enter you must ...
Go and Share a link to either Curious Fabulizations OR Lizz the Fabulizer
telling your friends, family, and fans to check it out!
(on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Your Blog, etc.)
Copy that link
Leave a Comment below with 1-Your Name 2-Your Email 3-The Link

I'll check the links and enter your name into the drawing (numbers will be assigned to the order in which you commented, and then the winning number will be pulled from a hat ... or something more technical)

In the mean time ... Go and LIKE us on Facebook to get the latest sales and the newest products! Be sure to Favorite the store to make sure you always know how to find us!!

(Side Note: If you leave a link on Facebook, be sure to make the comment public, otherwise I won't be able to see it)

Happy Winning Everyone!!!

Christmas Mantel

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my mantel? It is so huge (both in length and width) and beautiful! So it would stand to reason that the Christmas version of my mantel would be more glorious then anything else ... ever :)

It is impossible to take a picture of Christmas lights!

Etsy You Say?

There are two parts to my absence. The first is that it is Christmas time and I'd rather be decorating, shopping, wrapping, baking, and being with friends and family then at my computer. The other reason is that I've just started by Etsy Store and it is pretty awesome!

Friend us on Facebook to be aware of sales and new products!!

Coming soon, shadow puppets and hand painted vintage rod puppets (glee! totally excited about these!)

See a typo? For Lizz the Fabulizer readers only ... if you see a typo in any listing, you can qualify to get that listing at 35% off. Look closely and send me an email! The first "finder" gets the win!

Fall Mantel

I love holidays and decorating for them ... but when they are over, they are over! Let's pack it up and move on! This morning I stayed home not feeling great from work. It is a lot different to sniffle on some decorations then it is to sniffle over your desk. So, after sleeping in and doing some dishes, I began to put some halloween decorations away.

What, first let me say that last night I helped at a Halloween Carnival at my church and someone had donated about 100 small to medium sized pumpkins. Afterwards, they were just piling the pumpkins outside for anyone to take and enjoy. That is how this all started.

Looking at this wall - I'm so going to paint it this weekend!

1 - This is an indoor/outdoor clock my mom got for me at Wal-Mart of all places, on super clearance! It measures humidity and temperature. I think she paid about $8 on clearance for it - but I've had it for years already.

2. Those are my table legs! They had weathered nicely outside my house and were left when I loved in. They seem like art on the mantel now.

3. Babies breath found in my Halloween box.

4. Freebie Pumpkins!

5. This is tiny and you can't see it - there is a gold votive holder, Cinderella's Pumpkin Carriage, my green E, and a purple glass jar filled with book page roses. This is also where a bunch of the table scatter I bought it. I got red leaves and golden acorns at target for $2.50 a box. It is now everywhere in my house because that little box really goes a long way.

6. Sunburst Mirror

7. Glass water jug (like Culligan, although it doesn't have specific markings)

8. One of my tall glass vases filled with pinecones from the yard

9. The smaller of my apocathary jars with orangy-gold bulbs that I picked up at a yard sale two weeks ago

10. Paper lotus flowers
